FAQ's
What types of ear protection are available?
For constantly noisy workplaces, you can’t go past reusable earplugs and earmuffs for frequent protection. Disposable earplugs are ideal for workplaces where hearing protection is only needed at certain times, but for a large number of staff.
Â
How do I choose the right ear protection?
You can’t go wrong by selecting the highest performing ear protection, so look for the class of hearing protection or the noise levels that can be handled. If your workplace requires other PPE (i.e. hard hats or safety glasses), then choosing hearing protection that won’t interfere with other safety equipment is important.
Â
Are reusable earplugs hygienic?
Reusable earplugs are made from materials like silicone that can be easily cleaned or sanitised, letting you reduce waste and costs while keeping your hearing protected.
Â
Can ear protection reduce workplace fatigue?
Even if your workplace doesn’t have spikes of loud noise, a constant elevated volume level can affect focus and stress levels, so by providing ear protection, your team will be safe and productive at work.
Â
Is ear protection required by law?
Hearing protection is required in Australia if noise exposure exceeds 85dB when averaged over an 8-hour workday, and audiograms must be completed every two years in order to maintain safety compliance.
